Indians offense comes alive in shutout win

Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Indians put together their first two-game winning streak Monday night, beating the Everett AquaSox for the second straight time.

The Indians won by doing something no one has done all season long to Everett: shut them out 5-0.

Starting pitcher Miguel de los Santos threw five strong innings, giving up just two hits. Relief pitcher Kevin Johnson came in and recorded his first hold of the season, pitching two scoreless innings.

Spokane's offense, meanwhile, came to life. Designated hitter Daniel Lima was two-of-four, scoring two runs for the Indians. Second baseman Kevin Rodland stole twice, which led him to score both times. Jurickson Profar also had two hits, including a double in the sixth inning that scored the final two runs for the Indians.

The Indians had nine hits in all.

Spokane plays game four of the five-game series against Everett Tuesday night at Avista Stadium, with the opening pitch scheduled for 6:30.
