COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Two-time U.S. pairs champions Keauna McLaughlin and Rockne Brubaker are splitting after four years together.

In the announcement Tuesday, McLaughlin says she wants to take a year off and focus on schoolwork and other activities. Brubaker plans to continue skating and is looking for a new partner.

Calling it splits....
Keauna McLaughlin and Rockne Brubaker were left off the Olympic team after they finished fifth at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Spokane this past winter.

The move isn't a total surprise. Expectations for the pair skyrocketed after they won every competition their first season together, including the 2007 junior world title. But they struggled the last two seasons and had such a poor showing last year they didn't even make the Vancouver Olympics.
