Indians come up short, lose to Canadians

Posted: Updated:

Spokane starting pitcher Zack Osborne gave up two runs in 3 innings – just enough to spell doom for the Indians in their series opener against Vancouver Monday night.

Vancouver pitcher Nathan Long allowed five hits and one run, including three hits by Spokane's Jason Kudlock, who could have tied the game in the eighth inning. Instead, he popped out with the tying run in scoring position, and the Canadians took the game 2-1.

The Indians' lone score came on a fielding error in the second inning. The team went 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position.

The Indians and Canadians play again Tuesday night. Their next home game is Saturday against Everett.
