For the third week in a row, the results of the Spokane Shock game came down to the final play. For the second week in a row, the Shock came out on top as they defeated the Yard Dawgz, 68-63, in Oklahoma City. Spokane now has the third best record in the league (4-2) and remains undefeated on the road (3-0).More >>
The Spokane Shock (4-2) moved up two spots to No. 4 in the latest AFL coaches poll released Wednesday.
The Shock fell in behind Milwaukee and Jacksonville, who are tied for first place, and the Chicago Rush who remained at No. 3 with an identical 4-2 record. The Rush dropped a second-straight game over the weekend, losing to No. 10 Iowa 44-30.
Four teams dropped at least two spots this week. The biggest fall as the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings (2-4), who dropped four places to No. 13 after a close loss to Tampa Bay (3-3). Alabama (3-3) also moved down three spots to No. 8 after losing to Orlando (2-3). Alabama and Bossier-Shreveport play each other this weekend in Alabama.
Spokane moved up in the polls after a slim win on Sunday over the No. 13 Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (2-4). Cleveland jumped five spots to No. 5 after a home win against Tulsa.
The Shock play at home against Utah (1-4) on Saturday. The game can be seen live on SWX-TV at 7 p.m.
