MOSCOW, Idaho - (from EWU Sports Information) Ben Cogdill broke the school record in the pole vault as the Eastern Washington University track and field team ended their regular season at the Vandal Jamboree in Moscow, Idaho, Friday and Saturday (May 7-8).

The Eagles will compete at the Big Sky Conference Championships on May 12-16 in Ogden, Utah. Eastern athletes have already met the qualifying standards 58 times for the Big Sky Conference Championships. The list includes 32 for the men and 26 for the women.

Cogdill, a 2006 graduate of Estacada (Ore.) High School and transfer from Portland State University, broke EWU's school record with a winning vault of 16-8 1/4. He broke the mark of 16-7 1/4 set in 2005 by Mike Erickson. Cogdill already qualified for the BSC Championships earlier this season.

Efrain Sanchez finished fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 15-8 1/4, which qualified him for the conference championships.

On the women's side, Sarah Frey had a personal-best time in the 100-meter hurdles of 14.38 to finish third. That marks ranks second in school history behind the time of 13.52 set in 1999 by Seville Broussard. Frey qualified for the league championships in the 100 meters with a time of 12.41 to finish fifth.

Brianna Okoro qualified for the BSC Championships in the high jump with a mark of 5-3 to finish third.
