Bradley asks Mariners for help with personal issues

Posted: Updated:

Milton Bradley asked the Seattle Mariners management for help in dealing with personal issues one day after news of his outburst hit the national media.

The self-proclaimed Kanye West of professional baseball met with manager Don Wakamatsu and general manager Jack Zduriencik on Wednesday morning, telling the pair, "I need your help". Zduriencik said the team would do whatever it could to help him, according to The Associated Press.

Bradley left the stadium in a huff on Tuesday after Wakamatsu yanked him from Tuesday's loss against Tampa Bay. Bradley struck out while facing pitcher James Shields with the bases loaded in the 6th inning when the score was 3-1. It was his second KO of the game.

Wakamatsu said "what went on with two strikeouts, it was time we got him out of the ballgame."

Bradley was not in the starting lineup Wednesday night against Tampa Bay, and sources said it's not likely he'll play much in the coming days. Ryan Langerhans is listed as the starter in left field and is batting seventh.

Bradley said his issues have put him in a position where he can't compete the way he expects and that "it's been a long time coming".
