Mariners to Bradley: 'Rely on us'

SEATTLE - The Mariners have sat Milton Bradley down following an incident with fans on last week's road trip and told him not to put so much pressure on himself.

Seattle manager Don Wakamatsu said before Monday's home opener against Oakland that he talked with his slumping slugger after an incident Friday night at Texas. Bradley flipped off fans from the outfield in the fourth inning.

Wakamatsu says the 31-year-old well-traveled veteran told him he felt pressure to carry his new team. Wakamatsu talked to Bradley "about relying on us, not taking on all that pressure."

The man who told The Associated Press last month that he was baseball's Kanye West was back in the lineup after a day off on Sunday, but he was batting sixth instead of fourth. He entered the day 1 for 21.
