Gonzaga readies for Florida State

Gonzaga is scheduled to take the floor Thursday afternoon in Buffalo for a practice session before Friday's game against Florida State.

Also on Thursday, a couple of players will join coach Mark Few in a news conference to answer reporters' questions about the upcoming tournament game. Among those reporters - SWX's Sam Adams.  SWX will provide live streaming video of the news conference at approximately 12:45 (PT).

The Zags understand they don't enter this year's tournament as a heavy favorite - especially against a very tough defensive team like Florida State.  But, they say, they know what they have to do.

"We love it," said Gonzaga's Matt Bouldin last Sunday after learning they'd be playing in Buffalo. "We're going in with a chip on our shoulder and that's when we've been most successful.  We may not have had the expectation that we feel we deserve - or for whatever reason we don't have - and it just excites us, more than anything."

Many will say Gonzaga is playing the role of underdog this year - a title they haven't necessarily worn the past few seasons. Not this year.

"I think people might look at it as "underdog", but we're gonna come in confident and ready to play. I think, for us, we'll be ready," said Kelly Olynyk, who will be playing in his first-ever NCAA tournament as a true freshman.
