Thomas plans on playing with injured hand

SEATTLE - Doctors have told Washington catalyst Isaiah Thomas he probably has a broken bone in his shooting hand.

The Huskies' point guard and second-leading scorer said before practice Tuesday that trainers are trying to make a thinner, less-bulky glove for him to wear on his injured hamate bone on the lower palm of his left hand. He's planning to wear that Thursday in Washington's NCAA tournament game against Marquette in San Jose, Calif.

Thomas says the glove he had been wearing since getting hurt on Feb. 11 at California caused him to shoot with too much of his hand on the ball.

Washington coach Lorenzo Romar calls it a non-issue. He says Thomas has played well with the injury.
