Mead, Moses Lake advance to girls regional championship

Mead and Moses Lake will meet on Saturday to decide who goes as the top seed to the girls 4A State Tournament.

Mead easily took care of Walla Walla 52-35 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick Friday night. Both Jazmine Redmon and Taylor Ingebritsen scored 17 for the Panthers.

Jamie Weisner scored a game-high 20 points for Walla Walla.

Moses Lake dispatched Southridge 58-43 to reach the Regional championship game.

Central Valley kept its state tournament dreams alive by beating Richland 69-47 on the losers side of the bracket. The Bears will play Southridge Saturday at 11 a.m., with the winner advancing to the state tournament.

Chiawana also improved its chances of going to the tournament by beating Lewis and Clark 59-52. The Tigers season is over, while Chiawana will play Walla Walla for a chance at playing in Tacoma.

Colton 40, Columbia 23: Colton advanced to the championship game by defeating Columbia (Hunters) 40-23 in Friday's semifinal game. McKenzie Heaslet scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Wildcats.
