SWX announces its high school postseason awards Friday night on Friday Night Fast Break, including the award for Player of the Year.

Finalists for the award, determined by viewers' votes on SWXRightNow.com until Noon on Friday, included Marcus Colbert (Post Falls); Jim Maley (Rosalia); Ryan Nicholas (Gonzaga Prep); Shanique Nilles (West Valley); Tia Presley (Gonzaga Prep); Carli Rosenthal (Coeur d'Alene); Aaron Dunn (Mead); Aleisha Hathaway (Shadle Park); Jazmine Redmon (Mead) and Jake Weimer (Priest River).

Other awards not determined by voters will be Coach of the Year and the All-SWX teams.

Friday Night Fast Break with Sam Adams and Matt Rogers airs on SWX-TV at 11:13 p.m.

    The Central Valley High School girls basketball team capped off an historic season Saturday morning, defeating Hamilton Heights (TN) 66-61 in the GEICO High School Nationals championship game. Gatorade state player of the year, Lexie Hull led the way 26 points, 13 of which came in the 4th quarter. The Bears end the season 29-0 as Washington state champions and national champions.More >>
