Mead girls move on; UHigh boys advance

The Mead Panthers turned on the juice in the fourth quarter, surging past the visiting University Titans 58-37 in a loser-out District 8 playoffs game.

Jazmine Redmon scored 19 points for Mead in the win. Taylor Ingebritsen added 12 points, seven of which came in the fourth quarter. The Titans failed to make a field goal in the final period and ended the game with a total of 23 turnovers.

Mead advances to play No. 1 seed Central Valley Tuesday in Spokane Valley. The winner of that game goes on to play the winner between Gonzaga Prep and Lewis & Clark for the championship.

 

UHigh boys outplay Lewis & Clark
The University Titans got out to an early 18-4 lead and put away Lewis & Clark 45-26 in a low-scoring affair in downtown Spokane.

The Tigers hit just 9 of 47 shots from the field. UHigh was slightly better, making 17-of-40. Spencer Drury and Kyle Bailey each scored 12 points for the Titans. Austin Ehlo and Levi Taylor scored nine apiece for the Tigers, whose playoffs hopes are over.

University advances to play Gonzaga Prep Tuesday at 7:15. The winner of that game goes on to play the winner between Ferris and Mead.
