Gonzaga's women's basketball team continues its steady and historic climb in the polls.  The Zags earned their highest-ever ranking, moving up one spot to No. 21 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday.

And on the same day the Zags made history - again - they learned junior guard Courtney Vandersloot was named the WCC Co-Player of the Week.

Gonzaga played on the road last week, beating a one-loss Saint Mary's team, and then beating up on San Diego in SoCal 75-61.  The Zags have now won 12-straight games, are 21-4 overall and 10-0 in conference play.

The Zags return to the McCarthey Athletic Center for their final two home games this week.  They play Loyola Marymount on Thursday and Pepperdine on Saturday.  The game against Pepperdine can be seen live on KHQ Saturday at 2 p.m.

Junior guard Courtney Vandersloot was named the West Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday for her spectacular play last week.  She shares the weekly award with Louella Thompson of Saint Mary's College

Vandersloot helped the Zags remain undefeated in the WCC, averaging 18 points and 10 assists in the last two games.  She also shot 61.9 percent from the field.  She became the WCC all-time career assist leader in the win against San Diego, having notched a total of 663 assists over her career at GU.

This is Vandersloot's third Player of the Week honor this season and seventh overall.
