Washington State's April Cook did what no other Cougar has done in four years.  The sophomore guard was named the Pac-10's Women's Basketball Player of the Week after helping the Cougars to their first league win of the season.

Cook, originally from Carson, Calif., scored a career-high 33 points against Arizona State on Saturday, lifting the Cougars past the Sun Devils 66-62.  It was WSU's first win in Tempe in 13 years.  The win also snapped Washington State's 11-game losing streak to Arizona State, spanning nearly six years.

The 33 points by Cook were the most scored by a Cougar in more than 10 years and the ninth-most total in the program's history.  She hit 13 field goals on 18 attempts, leading her team to its fourth-largest comeback win after being down as many as 13 points.

Washington State returns to Pullman  to host the Bay Area teams this week.  They play Cal on Friday, and then host No. 2 Stanford on Sunday.
