SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Shock announced today that WR Robert Redd has been added to the 2010 roster.
Redd, 5-10 200, spent three years in the Arena Football League playing for the Colorado Crush (2004, 2007) and the Cleveland Gladiators (2008). Redd also spent time with several NFL teams including the Indianapolis Colts, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Philadelphia Eagles, where he earned a spot on the team's practice squad in 2005. In addition, Redd played three seasons for the Berlin Thunder (NFL Europe) catching seven passes for 102 yards and one touchdown in the 2005 World Bowl.
In 2008, Redd led the Cleveland Gladiators in receptions (129), receiving yards (1,523) and added 16 touchdown receptions.
Redd helped the Gladiators advance to the Conference Championship game where they fell to the Philadelphia Soul. In that game, Redd recorded a team leading 11 receptions for 152 yards receiving with two touchdowns.
"With his knowledge of the arena game and his big game experience, I think he's going to be a tremendous addition for this team," Head Coach Rob Keefe said. "Robert Redd really epitomizes the type of players we want here."
As an AFL veteran, Redd is already familiar with many of his new teammates.
"When I looked at the roster, I recognized a lot of the guys because I have either played with them or against them," Redd explained. "I know that these guys are winners and the type I want to go to battle with."
The Shock will kick off the inaugural season of the AF1 on Friday April 2nd at the Spokane Arena on Spokane Tribe Field as they host the Milwaukee Iron. Season tickets for the 2010 season are available now and can be purchased by calling (509) 242 7462
