SEATTLE - Center fielder Franklin Gutierrez and the Seattle Mariners have finalized a $20.5 million, four-year contract that avoids salary arbitration.
Gutierrez's deal Friday includes a team option for 2014. He batted .283 with 18 homers and 70 RBIs last year, his first season with Seattle.
Four Mariners remain eligible for arbitration: pitchers: Felix Hernandez, David Aardsma and Mark Lowe, and newly acquired first baseman Casey Kotchman.
