Crusaders throw monkey wrench into Valley Christian gameplan

Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Throw a monkey wrench into high school basketball and you never know what you're gonna get. But the Crusaders of Northwest Christian got exactly what they were looking for Tuesday night in an early-season spirit game against Valley Christian.

The Crusaders walked away with the coveted Monkey Wrench award after easily beating Valley Christian 58-14. By the time the third quarter rolled around Northwest Christian had exploded out to a 39-9 lead.

And then came the dunk. Ruben Clark, a 6'6" sophomore took the tall pass and flushed it to increase the lead to 41-9.

When all was said and done, Northwest Christian took home the wrench – along with the monkey and duct tape that goes with it. It'll stick with the Crusaders for at least another year.
