Nicholas scores 34 in GPrep's win over Seattle Prep

Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE, Wash. – Ryan Nicholas scored a season-high 34 points and showed Seattle Prep the door, as Gonzaga Prep beat the Panthers 67-53 Monday afternoon in the NW Jesuit Christmas Tournament.

The Bullpups contained Seattle Prep's freshman sensation DJ Fenner, holding him to a season low 12 points. The son of former Seahawks running back Derrick Fenner came into the game averaging nearly 19 points per game.

Parker Kelly added 11 for Gonzaga Prep, and Chris Sarbaugh scored 8.

The Prep team from the east side literally ran right over the Panthers, beating them with the fast break and open looks to Nicholas, who is committed to play at Portland next year.

The round-robin tournament at Gonzaga Prep resumes Tuesday with Seattle Prep playing Bellarmine Prep.
