For the fifth time this season, the road team has had the upper hand between the Spokane Chiefs and the Portland Winterhawks. Sunday night was Portland's turn, as they beat the Chiefs 5-4 in front of a packed house.

Both teams entered the game tied for second place in the U.S. Division. The win means the Winterhawks have a two-game advantage over Spokane. The two teams play again Tuesday night in Portland and won't play each other again until March.

Sunday's game saw Portland outshooting Spokane 41-33. Levko Koper helped the Chiefs build a two score lead early in the second period but Portland came storming back, scoring three goals in the third, including the game winner by Stefan Schneider at 16:12.
