Lewis & Clark pulls away from Ferris in scrappy battle

SPOKANE, Wash. - For a while it looked as if Ferris was going to make a game of Tuesday night's matchup at Lewis & Clark. And then came the second half.

Up just four points at halftime, Lewis & Clark turned on the jets to pull away to a blazing 68-40 win in a rivalry game full of turnovers, scrambles and fouls. 6'0" wing Hayley Hendricksen led all scorers with 12. Nakia Arquette and Abong Taka both had 10 for the Tigers, who improved to 3-1 on the season.

Alex Quann and Kiria King both scored eight points for the Saxons, who dropped to 1-4.

The Tigers, ranked No. 2 in the latest Seattle Times 4A poll, play Mead on Friday. Ferris is at Gonzaga Prep on Friday.
