Cougar women open exhibition season

PULLMAN - The Washington State University women's basketball team is gearing up for the 2009-10 season, and will play host to Lewis-Clark State College in an exhibition contest at Friel Court, Sunday at 2 p.m.

Sunday's game marks the first of two exhibition contests for the Cougars, the second of which will be played against Eastern Oregon at Friel Court, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m.

Admission to each of the exhibition games is free.

WSU ranked sixth in the Pacific-10 Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the team's highest predicted finish since the conference began the poll prior to the 1998-99 season.

LCSC ranks No. 16 in the NAIA Coaches' Preseason Poll, after finishing the 2008-09 season ranked No. 22. The Warriors were also selected to win the Frontier Conference in a poll of the league's coaches.

WSU opens the 2009-10 regular season against UC Davis at Friel Court, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m.
