BOISE, Idaho - A road-weary Idaho volleyball team finished a span of three matches in five days with a four-set loss at Boise State in Western Athletic Conference action Monday.

The Vandals, playing their 16th match away from Moscow in 18 contests, struggled with errors and the Broncos executed a successful gameplan in a 24-26, 26-28, 26-24, 20-25 Idaho loss. Boise State improved to 2-16 on the season and 2-4 in WAC play while Idaho fell to 7-11 overall and 3-3 in the WAC.

"Boise State played a great match and they definitely are a team that is better than their record shows," Idaho coach Debbie Buchanan said. "They got in (Sarah) Conwell's head by camping on her all match and that hurt us. Our middles responded and played great, but we can't win matches if our outsides don't produce. Even with as slow as we started we had chances to win each of the first two sets. We need to be better at pushing to win games."

Anna McKinney led the Vandals with 14 kills and a .545 hitting percentage while Debbie Pederson notched season highs with 13 kills and 11 blocks. Her 11 block assists rank fourth all-time at Idaho. Kelsey Taylor added 11 kills while Meredith Rice tallied 18 digs, Cassie Hamilton finished with 17 digs and Sarah Conwell totaled 11 digs.

As a team, the Vandals hit .171 for the match with 76 digs and 14 blocks. Boise State finished with a .180 hitting percentage, 76 digs and 10 blocks. Idaho totaled 26 hitting errors, seven serving errors, seven receiving errors, and five ball-handling errors.

Idaho is back on the road for its next match Saturday (Oct. 17) at Nevada. The match starts at 7 p.m.
