USC falls nine spots in latest AP poll

After a big win over No. 3 USC, the Washington Huskies moved into the Associated Press top 25 for the first time in six years.

The poll released Monday morning shows Washington at No. 24, while the Trojans dropped out of the top 10 to No. 12.  The Huskies won Saturday's game 16-13 on a field goal in the closing seconds.

The last time the Huskies were ranked was September 2003.  Last year they were 0-12 but have looked rejuvenated under new head coach Steve Sarkisian, who used to be the offensive coordinator at USC under Pete Carroll.

Huskies LB Savannah breaks hand, will play against Stanford
Washington linebacker E.J. Savannah broke a bone in his left hand against USC, but the senior expects to play through the injury this Saturday at Stanford.

Savannah broke the hand during the first quarter of the No. 24 Huskies' upset over USC last weekend. It's the second time Savannah has broken the hand, but he says this is a different bone that is injured.

Savannah missed just a couple of series in the first quarter while his hand was getting wrapped. He finished with five tackles in the 16-13 win over the Trojans.
