Stockton chooses Thomas for Hall of Fame moment

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane native and former Gonzaga star John Stockton will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday, and fellow ex-NBA star Isaiah will do the presenting.

The ten-time NBA all-star and two-time Olympic gold medalist will be joined by some of basketball's most elite personalities.  Alongside Stockton will be Michael Jordan and David Robinson.  Stockton selected Isaiah Thomas to be his presenter during his enshrinement, a player with whom he shared a healthy rivalry during the 1980s and '90s.

"First of all, he's set a huge standard for all little guys," Stockton told the Salt Lake Tribune.  "All the time, the NBA was going toward bigger and bigger guards.  But he showed everyone that little guys could play, too."

Stockton played four years at Gonzaga before being drafted by the Utah Jazz with the 16th pick in the 1984 draft.  He finished his college career as Gonzaga's all-time leader in assists and sixth leading scorer.
