Indians fall 4-1 to Volcanoes


SPOKANE, Wash -- The Spokane Indians were unable to score their base runners Friday night against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes as they lost 4-1.

The Volcanoes got on the scoreboard first in the second inning when Chris Dominguez hit a solo home run. In the bottom of the frame, Spokane had the bases loaded with no outs but was unable to score any runs.

Spokane's only run came in the fourth inning when Danny Lima singled to right center field to score Kyle Rhoad from second. The Indians finished the night 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position.

Indians starter Ben Henry went four innings in the loss, giving up three hits and two runs. Volcanoes reliever Kyle Vazquez went 4.1 innings to gain the win, only allowing one hit while striking out five.

The five game series is tied at two games apiece.

The Indians return to Avista Stadium tomorrow to play the final game of the five-game series against Salem-Keizer.
