SPOKANE, Wash. - The arenafootball2 league office announced that Shock rookie DB Stanley Franks was named the Aaron's Defensive Player of the Week.

In the Shock 88-27 win against the Stockton Lightning, Franks tied the team's single-game record of three interceptions, and added 6.5 tackles.

"It's a great honor to have, but I have my teammates to thank too," Franks said. "Pretty much you can give it to the whole defense. Everyone played and performed this week."

Before facing the Lightning, Franks had recorded three interceptions this season. Franks now shares the team lead with LB Kevin McCullough and DB Sergio Gilliam with six interceptions. Franks leads the Shock defense with 73 tackles, earning the spot of second-best in the af2.

The undefeated Shock take on the division-rival Tri-Cities Fever (1-10) Saturday in Spokane. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at Ticketswest.com, or by calling 325-SEAT.
