SAN DIEGO - After being swept in a three-game series at Colorado, the Seattle Mariners will send right-hander Felix Hernandez (6-3, 3.06) to the mound tonight in the opener of a three-game series at San Diego.

The Padres will counter with right-hander Kevin Correia (3-4, 4.80) in the game at 7:05.

The Mariners lost 7-1 at Denver Sunday in a game in which they were limited to six hits. They had yesterday off.

Rookie manager Don Wakamatsu's team will wind up a nine-game road trip at San Diego. The Mariners are three games under .500 at 30-33 while the Padres are 28-34. Each club has lost three in a row.

The Mariners open a six-game homestand against Arizona Friday night.
