Sounders shake up 'Quakes to end winless streak

SEATTLE - The Seattle Sounders broke their winless streak over the weekend. Freddie Ljungberg scored into a wide-open net Saturday night, then set up Fredy Montero's goal with a corner kick in the 59th minute as the Seattle Sounders beat the San Jose Earthquakes 2-1.

Seattle is now 5-3-5. The Sounders had gone 0-1-5 since a 2-0 victory over San Jose on April 25 in Seattle.

The Sounders' next game is Wednesday at home against D.C. United.
