Agent: Vick's return to football 'on the back burner'

Michael Vick Michael Vick

RICHMOND, Va.  - An agent for suspended NFL quarterback Michael Vick says Vick won't be setting out right away to try to resume his playing career. Joel Segal says Vick has a lot of work to do to get back into playing condition after two years out of the game, but that football "is on the back burner for now."

Vick left a Kansas prison early today to begin home confinement in Virginia. He served 19 months for financing a dogfighting ring.

A person familiar with his plans says Vick was accompanied by his fiancee and several members of a security team. The person says there's also a videographer recording the trip, though it's not known what Vick will do with the footage.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said again today that he'll review Vick's status after his criminal case is concluded. He says Vick will have to show that he's genuinely sorry for his crime and that he's committed to leading a different life.

The owner of the Atlanta Falcons says Vick deserves a second chance, but he says that second chance won't come with the Falcons.
