Pargo impressive at Blazer workout

Posted: Updated:

Jeremy Pargo's athleticism and energy was evident as he worked out with the Portland Trailblazers on Tuesday.

Pargo joined Connecticut forward Jeff Adrien, Alabama guard Alonzo Lee, Texas A&M guard Josh Carter, Cal St. Fullerton guard Josh Akognon and LSU forward Chris Johnson at the workout in front of coaches and staff.

"I felt fine," he told reporters after the workout.  "It was fun.  You got out there with a lot of guys you don't normally play with, and I got to play with a couple of guys I haven't seen all year.  It was quite an experience and it was fun for us."

After the workout, Pargo challenged Blazers scout Mike Born to a game of P-I-G.  Assistant coach Joe Prunty also joined in.

Chad Buchanan, a Blazer scout, told Tuesday's group of potential players performed better than Monday's.

"He's definitely got a chance down the road to play in our league," Buchanan told  "When you're kind of a guy who's not a marquis future NBA all-star, you got to have those intangibles to make an impact at our level, and impress the coach and get on the floor, and he's got those intangibles."

Portland has the 24th overall pick in the draft on June 25.
