Favre in a Vikings uniform?

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota's governor is salivating at the thought of Brett Favre playing for the Vikings. ESPN reported on Tuesday that the former Green Bay and Jets quarterback is scheduled to meet with Vikings coach Brad Childress sometime this week.

Favre retired - again - this winter after spending last season with the New York Jets.  Both he and his agent said earlier this spring that he intended to stay retired.  They also said that when he left the Packers.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty says putting the former Green Bay Packer in purple would be fun for fans. He says it would be "a wonderful little salt to rub in the eyes of some of our Green Bay Packer friends."

Pawlenty laid out the scene: "Can you imagine Brett Favre going into Lambeau Field in Viking purple and maybe even wearing No. 4? There would be audible gasps."

The Associated Press said Vikings spokesman Bob Hagan has no comment on the possibility of Favre playing in Minnesota.  Childress said last weekend that the Vikings would discuss Favre's availability after he was granted his release by the Jets.
