Storm re-sign LJ

Posted: Updated:

SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm have re-signed center Lauren Jackson, the two-time WNBA Most Valuable Player who led the Storm to the 2004 championship.

The free agent picked the Storm over the Phoenix Mercury. She says she's excited to return to Seattle and work toward another championship.

The 27-year-old Jackson has spent her entire WNBA career in Seattle and is the franchise leader in scoring. The eight-year veteran average 19 points, eight rebound, and about two assists and two blocks per game.

The Storm open the season June 6 at Sacramento.
