    PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University men's basketball coach Tony Bennett surprised his players, his assistant coaches and the school administration Monday by accepting an offer to become the head coach at the University of Virginia. Bennett told returning players and coaches about his plans at a 2 p.m. meeting in Beasley Coliseum.More >>

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - It's official; Tony Bennett was named the new coach of the Virginia men's basketball team in a press conference Wednesday in Charlottesville.

Virginia's Athletic Director called it a day of celebration for the University of Virginia and said Tony Bennett is the future of Virginia Basketball.

Bennett's wife and kids were on hand for the event.

According to a press release from the University of Virginia, Bennett will make $1.7 million per year plus bonuses and a $500 thousand signing bonus will be give at the onset of the contract, with another $500 thousand at the end of the 5 years.
