RENTON, Wash. - The Major League Soccer Seattle Sounders FC team has signed 24-year-old forward Kevin Forrest, the Pac-10 player of the year as a junior at University of Washington in 2006.
In 2008, Forrest was with the MLS Colorado Rapids, appearing in one division match, and the USL-1 Sounders while he was on loan from the Rapids. The Rapids drafted Forrest with the third pick in the 2008 MLS supplemental draft and waived him last week. The Sounders acquired him on waivers.
At Washington, Forrest was a three-time all-Pac-10 selection. He is a native of Edmonds, Wash.
The Sounders beat the New York Red Bulls 3-0 in their inaugural match in the MLS last week at Qwest Field before a crowd of 32,523. They'll be back at Qwest Field Saturday night against Real Salt Lake for their second MLS match.
