The Gonzaga Bulldogs have a tough road ahead of them, playing the top seeded North Carolina Tarheels this week in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament.

The two teams last met in November 2006 when the Zags beat UNC in the preseason NIT at Madison Square Garden.

North Carolina advanced to the regional semifinals Saturday night by beating LSU 84-79.  Wayne Ellington scored 23 points for the Tarheels, but the big story was point guard Ty Lawson's return to the court.  Lawson also scored 23 points after recovering from a toe injury.

The Zags know they'll have their hands full, but say they won't be intimidated.

"They're a perennial power, and we know that - everyone knows that." said Gonzaga forward Austin Daye.  "But hopefully we can come out and do the right things to challenge them and give them a good game.  I think we can."

Senior guard Matt Bouldin said the Tarheels are team with a lot of firepower.

"They have a ton of weapons.  They're really fast, really good defenders, and we're going to have our hands full.  But we're just gonna try to make a game plan and attack them," said Bouldin.

The Zags face the Tarheels this coming Friday, with tipoff scheduled for 6:57 p.m. Pacific Time.

Tickets to the game in Memphis go on sale to all current Bulldog Club members at 10 a.m. on Monday through Wednesday at noon.  How much?  $159 for the two games on Friday and the regional final on Sunday.
