Thunderbirds even series at 1-1 with win over Chiefs

SPOKANE, Wash. - It's all even for the Spokane Chiefs in their best-of-seven playoff series against the Seattle Thunderbirds.  The Chiefs lost 2-1 Saturday night at the Spokane Arena.

Thomas Hickey scored a power play goal at 15:37 in the second period to put the Thunderbirds 1-0.  They scored another goal at 5:11 in the third on a goal by Sena Acolatse.

For the Chiefs, Drayson Bowman scored his third goal in two games at 1:26 in the third when he was sent into the Seattle zone by Stefan Ulmer.  Bowman went high, glove side for the goal.  The Chiefs had a shot at winning with a shot from Dustin Tokarski n the final minute, but Calvin Pickard made one of his 33 saves on the night, securing the win for the Thunderbirds.

The Chiefs and Thunderbirds meet for game three Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Seattle.  Game four is Wednesday at the same place and time.
