Gonzaga-Pacific: 3 keys to the Bulldogs’ 67-36 victory over the Tigers

UPDATED: Thu., Jan. 10, 2019, 10:32 p.m.

Key moment

Rui Hachimura took a steal coast to coast and slammed home a dunk with 1:08 left in the first half. He soared over the defender, who undercut him, leading to a flagrant foul and two free throws after the dunk. It was an impressive show of athleticism that energized the crowd and made the bench go wild.

Offensive MVP

Josh Perkins had an efficient and productive night. He led the Zags with 14 points while shooting 50 percent from the floor with six assists and two turnovers. He had a couple of lobs for alley-oops and looked in control.

Defensive MVP

Brandon Clarke is special on the defensive end. His height does nothing to intimidate, but his athletic ability forces rivals into poor shots, or he blocks them. He had five blocks – for 57 on the season – and eight rebounds.
