Prep baseball: Cole Johnson hits for cycle to lead Central Valley over University

Greater Spokane League

Central Valley 17, University 5: Cole Johnson hit for the cycle and drove in five runs to lead the visiting Bears (8-2) past the Titans (5-5) on Monday. Kyle Parkman added a triple and a home run, driving in four runs for Central Valley. Caleb Morton homered for University.

Ferris 4, North Central 3: Grant Starkey allowed two runs and struck out six over five innings and the Saxons (7-3) topped the visiting Indians (1-9) on Monday. Levi Fields tossed two scoreless innings for the save.

Gonzaga Prep 13, Lewis and Clark 7: Lucas Struck had two hits with four RBIs and the Bullpups (4-6) scores six runs in the sixth to break a late tie and put away the visiting Tigers (3-7) on Monday. Garret Gores added three hits for Gonzaga Prep. Grant Skinner singled and doubled twice for Lewis and Clark.

Mt. Spokane at Rogers: Nate Naccarato struck out 12 over 5 1/3 innings and the visiting Wildcats (9-1) beat the Pirates (0-10). Brady Hill had four hits, including a triple, with three runs and two stolen bases for Mt. Spokane.

Mead 8 Shadle Park 3: Elijah Hainline went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and the visiting Panthers (7-3) topped the Highlanders (6-4) on Monday. Michael Demand struck out five in a complete game for Mead.

Northeast A

Freeman 9, Medical Lake 4: Tyler Balkenbush had three hits, scored three runs and drove in two to lead the visiting Scotties (2-1) past the Cardinals (1-5) at Whitworth. Jordan Eskridge struck out five in 4 1/3 innings to pick up the win.

Deer Park 9, Lakeside 1: Tanner Bratcher struck out 11 in a complete game and broke it open with a two-out, two-run double in the sixth inning to help the visiting Stags (3-2) beat the Eagles (1-4).

Nonleague

Coeur d’Alene 10, Asotin 0: Colt Rowley allowed three hits in a five-inning complete game and the Vikings (8-1) beat the visiting Bulldogs in a nonleague game on Monday. Rowley struck out four and did not allow a walk. Noah Mayfield, Quinton Bunch, Carter Freisz and Alex Karns all drove in two for CdA.
