Gonzaga volleyball completes weekend sweep at Portland tournament

PORTLAND – Sarah Penner hit .538 on her way to a match-high 15 kills on Saturday, helping Gonzaga sweep host Portland State 3-0 to wrap up a perfect appearance at the Les Schwab West Coast Challenge volleyball tournament.

Gonzaga entered the weekend 0-5 but won two matches Friday and cruised past the Vikings (1-8) on the final day.

The Zags finished the first set on a 12-3 run to win 25-11. They cruised 25-10 in the middle set and overcame a 9-5 deficit in the third set to win 25-20.

Chapin Gray added 10 kills, Tiyana Hallums had 23 digs, and Jenna Kuehn totaled 26 assists and 10 digs for the Bulldogs.
