Prep morning roundup: Makayla Marshall plated three runs, University improves to 17-0

Makayla Marshall doubled in three runs and visiting University (17-0) outlasted Mead (12-5) 7-4 on Tuesday in a Greater Spokane League game.

Alyssa Benthagen added three hits for University. Destiny Scott singled and tripled for two RBIs to lead Mead.

Soccer

Newport 2, Medical Lake 1: Brenna Elles was the difference with an overtime goal and the Grizzlies (1-8-0) beat the visiting Cardinals (1-8-0) in a Northeast 1A league match.

Volleyball

Mt. Spokane def. Lewis and Clark (25-13, 25-16, 25-20): Tia Allen had 13 digs with three aces and the Wildcats (10-1) defeated the visiting Tigers (7-5) in a Greater Spokane League match.
