SWX (Sports and Weather) will air total of 29 college football games in 2010, featuring teams near and dear to the Inland Northwest. The season begins Aug. 28 with Central Washington hosting Minnesota-Duluth - the first-ever live Wildcat game shown on SWX-TV.
On Sept. 18, fans can watch Eastern Washington play their first game on the new red turf. The Eagles will host Montana in what could be one of the best games of the season for either team.
SWX will also air several Boise State games, including a pivotal matchup on Nov. 6 against Hawaii.
Idaho will have five games broadcast on SWX, starting with a road game against Western Michigan on Oct. 2, a home game against Nevada and a game at Fresno State on Nov. 27.
Two Whitworth games will be shown on SWX: Lewis-Clark State and Willamette.
College football fans will also get to see several games from the SEC, including a game Sept. 11 between Florida and South Florida.
SWX can be seen free over the air on 6-2 in Spokane, 25-3 in the Tri-Cities area and 23-3 in the Yakima area. The 24-hour-a-day sports and weather channel can also be seen on cable in the following regions: Spokane, Coeur d'Alene, Moscow, Pullman, Lewiston, Moses Lake, Sandpoint, Tri-Cities and Yakima (check local listings for channel assignments).
Currently, SWX is not available on DirecTV or DISH Network. Having SWX on satellite is KHQ's number one priority, and we ask that viewers help the process along by calling their satellite provider and ask that SWX be given a channel placement. The response we have received from DISH and Direct is they don't have enough space for secondary digital channels. KHQ feels local should be a high priority. We are trying to change their minds with the help of our viewers. So please keep calling and let them know your feelings about how important it is to show local weather and sports on SWX on the Satellite. Again, KHQ appreciates your help and support with this.
DISH Network customers can call 1-888-825-2557 and Direct-TV customers can call 1-888-777-2454.
