Gonzaga Prep gets revenge over Panthers

Gonzaga Prep solidified its GSL supremacy Thursday night, putting away a tough Mead team 71-55 in a game that was a lot closer than it appears by looking at the final score.

First-place Prep (17-1, 12-1 GSL) was looking for a bit of revenge against the Panthers, given that it was Mead (13-5, 11-2 GSL) who handed them their only loss of the season in early January – a 52-53 loss at the hands of Bo Tully.

The Bullpups would not be denied this time.  The game was back and forth up until the fourth quarter when Prep's Parker Kelly hit back-to-back three-pointers from the left wing to break the game open.

Ryan Nicholas, who committed to play at Portland next year, scored a game-high 28 points and fought off double and triple coverage all night long.  Chris Sarbaugh added 15 for the Bullpups and Kelly scored 10.

Mead's Aaron Dunn, who signed a letter of intent yesterday to play football at Washington State, scored a team-high 24 points for the Panthers, matching Nicholas' presence inside for most of the game.  Bo Tully scored 11 and both Brandon Meyers and Taylor Farnsworth scored 7.
