The Spokane finished up their Central Division road trip with a 4-3 loss to the Kootenay Ice Saturday night in Cranbrook, B.C.

Kootenay's Kevin King scored just 1:20 into the first period to give the Ice a 1-0 lead. Spokane would counter at 8:36 as Blake Gal would score a shorthanded goal to make it a 1-1 game. The Chiefs would take the lead as Stephan Ulmer would score a power play goal at 17:18 of the period to make it 2-1 Spokane. Ulmer's 5th goal of the year was assisted by Tyler Johnson and Dominick Uher.

Kootenay would put up three goals in the second period within 4 ½ minutes of each other midway through the stanza to give the Ice a 4-2 lead after two periods as Spokane managed only 6 shots on net in the second.

Uher would score a power play goal with 2:01 left in the third period to bring Spokane within 4-3, but the Chiefs could not score in the last 2 minutes to draw even. Uher's third goal of the year was assisted by Mitch Wahl and Jared Spurgeon. Kootenay outshot Spokane 32-27 in the contest.

The Chiefs will resume their 8 game road trip when they visit the U.S. Division leading Tri City Americans Saturday night at 7pm.
