First it was former Spokane goaltender Dustin Tokarski being recalled by the Tampa Bay Lightning. And now another former Chief gets some recognition. The Carolina Hurricanes recalled Drayson Bowman from the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

This marks the first NHL recall for the 20-year-old Bowman, who played four seasons with Spokane. While a Chief, Bowman scored 130 goals and 112 assists in 265 regular season games. He was the leading goal scorer on Spokane's Memorial Cup-winning team and was named to the Memorial Cup All-Star team.

The Hurricanes drafted Bowman in the third round, 72nd overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Tokarski was recalled by the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday. The 5-foot-10 goaltender is in his first professional season after finishing a 3-year career with the Chiefs. He's appeared in 25 games for the Norfolk Admirals this season, the club affiliated with the Lightning.

A native of Saskatchewan, Tokarski won a franchise record 77 games in 124 appearances for the Chiefs. Last season he had a 34-18-2 record and set a franchise record 1.97 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage. He also helped Canada to the Gold Medal at the 2009 World Junior Championships, posting a 4-0 record.

Tokarski was selected by the Lightning in the fifth round, 122nd overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
