Chiefs get ready for long road trip
The Spokane Chiefs are getting ready to hit the road for a long road trip, with five straight games away from Spokane Arena.
The road trip begins Friday night at Edmonton and the team won’t be back until Saturday, Nov. 28 against Regina.
As a team, the Chiefs have done relatively well on the road this season, although they haven’t such a long stretch of consecutive road games yet. They have a 4-2-1 road record away from Spokane, and many players said on Wednesday that they welcome the challenge.
“It’s a lot of games on the road. Ideally, if we can win three out of five that’d be ideal,” said head coach Hardy Sauter. “Anything more than that would be borderline excellent. We think we have a great opportunity to win every game if we’re prepared and work hard.”
“It’s kind of a grind, especially this year, we haven’t really had that,” said Tyler Johnson. “It’s going to be nice test for us. I think our team is ready for it and it’s going to be fun.”
