SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga forward Austin Daye will play for the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons selected the forward from California, making him the 15th player selected in Thursday night's draft.

Daye will become a teammate of former Eastern Washington Eagle Rodney Stuckey, who has made a name for himself as the Pistons point guard.

Talking from his home in Spokane, Gonzaga assistant coach Ray Giacoletti sung Daye's praise, saying he made the right decision by leaving Gonzaga to play in the NBA.

Three other former Zags will also be keeping a close eye on the draft.  Josh Heytvelt is projected by ESPN to go early in the second round.  Jeremy Pargo and Micah Downs could be free agent singees.

Hear Austin Daye speak LIVE to KHQ moments after he is drafted by tuning into KHQ Local News at 5 or 6.
